Application:
Civil filtering gas mask MZS VK EKRAN (multifunctional protective device) is used for protection of rescuers' respiratory organs, eyes and faces during elimination of anthropogenic breakdowns consequences, civilians caught in the accident zone, industrial staff in case of emergency, nature and anthropogenic disasters accompanied by injection of harmful substances of different chemical nature in the atmosphere.

Design:
MZS VK EKRAN gas mask consists of a MAG-3 full-face mask, VK 450 A1B2E2K1HgNOCOSXP3D combined filter and a carrying and storage case.

MAG-3 full-face mask (Specifications 2568-455-05795731-2010) consists of a panoramic glass case, a rubber seal with double obturator, two lateral inhalation valve assemblies with threaded necks for the right and left connection of the filter, an exhalation valve with two exhalation valve leafs located one after another, an inner mask with two inhalation valves, a speech device, and a 5-point head harness.

Using MAG-3 full-face mask as a part of MZS VK ERAN gas mask improves considerably the consumer characteristics of the latter and provides several important advantages:

One universal size of MAG-3 mask eliminates the necessity to measure the size of the head of a person and choose the rightsize of a mask.

Quick self-tightening buckles of the 5-point head-harness significantly simplify the process of fitting, adjusting and fixing the mask right on the head of a user.

the inner mask prevents the visor from sweating and reduces carbon dioxide content in the inhaled air. The obturator of the inner mask ensures tightfitting between the mask and the face.

Protective properties :
MZS VK EKRAN gas mask provides efficient protection from the following:

organic gases and vapours, with a boiling point above 65 °C (cyclohexane, benzol, benzene, xylene, toluene, kerosene, organic halogen compounds (chloropicrin, cloroacetophenone, etc,), nitro-compounds of benzol and its homologues, acetonitrile, aniline, ketones, tetraethyl lead, etc,).

Inorganic gases and vapours (hydrogen cyanide, sulfur hydride, chlorine, fluorine, bromine, arsenic compounds, phosphine etc.), including carbon monoxide.

Acid gases and vapours (sulfur dioxide, hydrogen chloride, hydrogen fluoride, hydrogen bromide, vapours of sulfuric acid, vapours of acetic acid, vapours of formic acid, vapours of nitric acid, vapours of phosphoric acid, etc.).

Ammonia and its organic derivatives.

Mercury vapours.

Nitrogen oxides (nitrogen monoxide, nitrogen dioxide, nitrous oxide, nitrogen trioxide, nitrogen tetroxide, nitrogen pentoxide)

Specific toxic chemical agents (cyanogen chloride, sarin, soman, phosgene, etc.)

Radioactive substances (radioactive iodine, radioactive methyl iodide)

Aerosols (dust, smoke, mist) including bacterial aerosols and radioactive dust.

Operational conditions:
The MZS VK gas mask is used in atmospheres comprising not less than 17 % of oxygen by volume when the ambient temperature is from minus 40 up to plus 40 Celsius degree and total toxic agents concentration by volume not more than 0,1%, mercury vapours - no more than 0,0001%, nitrogen oxides - no more 0,25%, carbon monoxide - no more 0,5%.
The MZS VK gas mask is used as part of type 3 personal protective equipment of first responders according to State Standard R 22,9.05-95 ensuring protection against ammonia, acetonitrile, hydrogen fluoride, hydrogen chloride, sulphur dioxide, sulphur hydride, hydrogen cyanide, phosgene, chlorine, chloropicrin, nitrogen oxides for up to 240 minutes.
Application of the gas mask for protection against specific toxic chemical substances (cyanogen chloride, sarin, soman, phosgene, etc.), carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxides, radioactive substances, biological aerosols, and radioactive dust is one¬time. Maximum duration of the gas mask use for protection against mercury vapours is 50 hours.
Application, nominal resistance time for each class of protection and identification colour of VK filter class complies with requirements of State Standard R12.4.193-99 and State Standard R 22.9.05-95.
